New Citizen Self Service FAQ's

What is changing?

  • New website: ajwaterdistrict.org
  • All customers will receive a new account number and new customer number, more information about the difference below.
  • Some customers will receive a new billing due date - the new due date will be 20 days after the bill date.
  • To transition to the new due date, some customers may have a one-time longer cycle, which may result in a larger bill. The charges will not be more, the increase would be due to a longer period.
  • All customers paying through autopay will need to re-enroll using the Citizen Self Service portal - you will need your new account and customer numbers to sign up. You must have a balance in order to sign up for autopay the first time.
  • All customers using bill pay through their bank will need to update their account /customer and payment address.
  • All customers mailing payments will need to use the provided envelope / stub or update their account / customer number and payment address.
  • All customers making a payment by phone, 480-982-6030, using our new IVR system will need to have their new account / number.
  • All customers interested in paperless billing will need to re-enroll on the Citizen Self Service portal.

What will remain the same?

  • The Apache Junction Water District will continue to offer a payment drop box located at 300 E. Superstition Blvd, (east of the City Attorney’s office, shaped like a prickly pear cactus).

What if I’m on autopay?

  • If you are on autopay, you will need to sign-up again using our Citizen Self Service portal with your new account / customer number. 
  • You must have a balance in order to sign up for autopay the first time.

What is the difference between customer and account number?

With the new system, there is a customer number and an account number. Both numbers must be included with your payments. The account number (five digits) is assigned to the service address and the customer number (six digits) is assigned to the individual.
