Rates

Apache Junction Water District is committed to providing safe and reliable drinking water to our customers. With this commitment comes the responsibility to ensure that our water system remains economically sustainable.

RATE COMPONENTS

Our Water Rates consist of:

1. Base Service Charge, which is based on water meter size, and 
2. Consumption Charge, which is based on the amount of water used.

AJWD uses a tiered water rate structure so the price for water increases as the volume used increases. This provides a financial incentive for customers to use water more efficiently because high volume consumption is charged at a higher rate.

Apache Junction Water District makes every effort to minimize the effect of rate adjustments. We care about our customers and the potential impact any adjustment may cause.  The approach we take is reasonable, sensible, and responsible.

 2024-2025 rates

As part of our annual budget and rate setting process, due to increased operating expenses and equipment replacement costs, it has become necessary to adjust our rates. The new rates for FY 2024-2025 were adopted by Water Board on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 and became effective, and will be included in billing cycles, as of July 1, 2024.
